Wegmans Bruiser Wet Dog Food Back into Shelves

Wegmans brand Bruiser wet dog food varieties is back on store shelves six months after the recall. Menu Foods Income Fund, maker of Wegmans and many other pet food brands, recalled about 20 kinds of pet foods. Their product contains wheat gluten said to be contaminated with melamine that causes illness in pets. The contaminated wheat gluten came from China. Menu Foods is now getting wheat gluten from either the United States or Europe. After the recall, Wegmans sent a Quality Assurance Team to Pennsauken, New Jersey to visit the pet food plant and review quality procedures.

"Our look at Menu's manufacturing and testing capabilities give us confidence that the pet foods returning to our shelves will be safe for our customers' pets."
